Twin furnace

  • It is a conventional 3 pass smoke-tube design, designed for the combustion of coal and wood in an internal furnace and is therefore sometimes known as coal/wood fired Steam Boiler
  • This Packaged Boiler is available with a dry back, semi-wet back, or completely wet back, and is best suited for manual solid fuel firing, such as coal, wood, or briquettes.
  • The boiler furnace is fully submerged in the water. This helps in transferring the maximum heat from the furnace to the surrounding water. The grate bars on which the fuel is burnt are placed in the furnace to ensure the desired grate area for burning fuel.

Single furnace

Single furnace

In Single furnace Flue gases are produced by the burning of fuel. After the furnace is closed, the flue gasses be released into the boiler via the smoke chamber. In this smoke chamber, the flue gas travels at a maximum speed through smoke tubes, allowing for maximum heat transfer to the water. This is both sensible as well as the inert energy can be transferred by the flue gases to water, converting into steam.

Wetback package boiler

A wetback package boiler is a type of steam boiler that features a design where the combustion chamber is surrounded by water. The term “wetback” indicates that the rear of the combustion chamber is water-jacketed. This design enhances heat transfer efficiency by allowing more heat to be absorbed by the water surrounding the combustion chamber.
